The Christ Our Life team received an incredible 1,600 full page responses from a questionnaire available at the October 2010 conference. The following is a small sample of the myriad of positive comments received:
“Did the conference make me closer to God?” Yes-in fact, the first morning during Mass I could almost feel His presence working.”
“I can’t say enough wonderful things about this past weekend! It was so beautiful and full of the Holy Spirit. I will definitely attend the next one…we are still in AWE of the whole weekend.”
“A gentleman drove his wife to the conference and told her that we would be going back to the hotel several times during the conference to rest. He never left the conference and was back again the next day.”
A young man under 30 took a group of young people to the conference Saturday morning, His intention was to leave and return later. He had unresolved issues with his family and had chosen to stay away from the Church for several years. He was surprised to find himself engaged, and decided to stay. The next morning he sat in front, listened to the speakers and attended Mass. He died one week later unexpectedly.
“It was the first time this young teen attended a conference so she didn’t know what to expect. She told her mom that it made her want to be a better person.”
“Music and Masses were excellent-what a renewal of faith. I would recommend anyone going to this. He (God) must have touched many hearts this weekend; He sure did mine.”
“I and probably many, many others are rethinking our lives and making different decisions because of the conference. And, as Matthew Kelly suggested, we’re taking back our beautiful Catholic religion.”
“I can’t imagine missing the next one (conference.) I’ve been to see Matthew Kelly in Omaha and Lincoln, Johnette B. and Fr. Mitch Pacwa in Lincoln and they were all great, but your conference moved to the top of my list.”
“Some of the students from (a Des Moines area Catholic school) were reluctant to go. They were so glad that they did AND they were excited to come back the next day.”
“I am reminded of the Christ Our Life Conference daily by the speakers, their words of inspiration and faith, by the very picture of all the priests that attended, the audience, and the many volunteers who put in many hours and yet had a smile and a kind word for everyone. Truly God was there on that special weekend. He must have been smiling down on us seeing the love in everyone’s heart.”
