Covid-19 Safety Precautions

Numerous public health and safety precautions will be put into place.
Recognizing that the COVID-19 situation may change by this fall, these steps may be further adapted, as needed.

Here is what Wells Fargo is doing:

  • Deep disinfection of the entire events center daily.
  • Seating disinfected prior to Saturday’s events and again for Sunday.
  • Staff training on disinfection and safety equipment.
  • EPA-approved disinfectant for COVID-19 amongst many other pathogens.
  • Electrostatic sprayers for 360 coverage on touch point surfaces.
  • Pre-and post-event disinfection of surfaces includes door handles, furniture, restroom fixtures and dispensers, elevator buttons, escalator rails, handrails.
  • Constant disinfection of touch points during event.
  • Elevator operators will wear masks and gloves and be the only ones to touch the elevator buttons.
  • Sanitation stations will be located at entries, elevators, escalator landings, docks, restrooms, and auxiliary spaces.
  • Less lobby and foyer furniture to comply with social distancing standards.
  • Building air filters’ replacement.
  • Event set-up built in accordance with CDC and social distancing guidelines.

Additional steps COL is taking…

  • With maximum seating of 16,110 at the Arena, COL2020 will only allow 3,700 in-person tickets to be sold, about half the typical number compared to our previous events. All of those seats will be required to be socially distanced.
  • More entryway ticket screeners to allow easier, social distanced access into the Arena.
  • All attendees and COL volunteers and vendors will be required to wear masks in common areas such as when entering or exiting the building, while in Adoration or Confession, and anywhere on the concourse such as visiting exhibitors, restrooms, concession stands, etc.
  • Livestreaming the event (same price as in-person ticket) so people may attend from the safety of their homes.
  • Limited music compared to other years.
  • Safety precautions regarding lines for and receiving the Holy Eucharist.
  • Exhibitors located farther apart from previous years.
  • Ongoing prayers throughout the planning and holding of the event.

Masks are required in all common areas such as entering/exiting the building, exhibition areas, Adoration Chapel, Communion lines, restrooms and concession stand lines.
